Additional information: Recruiting for 1 permanent Full Time Position

  • To coach, support, mentor and challenge managers in the application of HR policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on complex HR issues in order to minimise risk and financial exposure.
  • To ensure that all relevant legislative requirements, including those relating to Equality & Diversity are embedded in the development of project and policy work and in all the advice provided to customers.
  • To develop recruitment policies and practices to effectively meet resource requirements for the Group, ensuring best practice and value for money.
  • Provide advice and guidance in recruitment selection processes to support the Group and the customer.
  • To support managers in all aspects of attendance management including assistance in achieving KPI’s, management of both long and short term absence and utilising support from external partners in line with Group policies and procedures.
  • To support and advise managers in all aspects of employee relations including discipline, grievance and performance management in line with Group policies and procedures.
  • To support and develop pro-active ‘partnerships’ with recognised Trade Unions.
  • To support and develop the skills of our employees to deliver corporate objectives.
  • To provide timely advice and support on all matters relating to employment legislation to the Group and the customer.
  • To take a proactive approach in updating policies and procedures in line with changes in legislation, and ensure timely communication of any changes to the Group.
  • To help to assess the impact of new business opportunities and integrate any new employees into the Group.
  • To help to promote continuous improvement across the Group and to ensure that change management is effectively planned and delivered.
  • To help managers to undertake workforce planning and recruit staff that will support the Values of the Group.
  • To ensure HR systems and record keeping is accurate, kept up to date and secure, in line with Data Protection requirements
  • Maintain and promote the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and conduct.  To ensure that the Group’s code of conduct is observed for self and the team.
  • Supervision of HRD Officer / Officers including performance management, change management, authorisation of leave, success reviews and sickness absence management.
  • Ensure that our Customers are at the heart of everything we do.
  • To read, understand and demonstrate a commitment to the Group’s Employee Charter.
  • To understand and mitigate the Group’s existing and future risks.
  • Expected to ensure compliance with all legal obligations concerning the protection of data concerning employees, customers and third parties.
  • To take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), whilst following the Group’s Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • To work in a variety of locations including premises not directly under the control of the Group.
  • Some flexibility over working hours is necessary to meet the requirements of the job.

To purpose of the role is to provide all aspects of generalist HR support and advice to line managers, team leaders and employees in line with the Group policies and procedures and to support the HR and Business Strategy.
